think of提出建议：

succeed in life成功：

make sb./sth. +adj. 使某人/某物
The news made her happy. 这消息使他很高兴。
He made his meaning clear. 他把他的意思说得很明白。
make on
Can you easily make yourself understood in English? 你能用英语轻易的表明你的意思吗？

need vt. 需要；必须
Does he need help? 他需要帮忙吗？
Does he need to know? 他一定要知道吗？
need为情态动词。（无不定式，无分词，第三人称单数是need而非needs，用于疑问句及否定句中后接没有to的不定式；need not缩写为needn’t）：
--Need you go yet? 你一定要去吗？
--No, I needn’t. /--Yes, I need. 不，我不必去。/是的，我必须去。
You needn’t go yet, need you? 你不一定要去，是吗？
need为名词，缺乏；需要；必须：
There is no need to start yet. 现在还不必动身。
There’s a great need for a book on this subject. 非常需要有一本关于这主题的书。
5．What does life mean? 生活是什么意思？
What does…mean? =What’s the meaning of…? = What do you mean by…? 是什么意思？
What does “quick” mean? =What’s the meaning of “quick”? =What do you mean by “quick”? 是什么意思？
I don’t want you to look up “life” in the dictionary. 我不希望你在字典里查找“life”。
look up查找（指在字典、工具书或笔记本里）
When you don’t know a word, you must look it up in a dictionary. 当你不认识单词时，你必须查字典。

like意为“喜欢”“喜爱”，后面接名词、代词、+动词原形或动名词。
We like playing basketball. 我们喜欢打篮球。
Do you like to fly a kite? 你喜欢放风筝吗？
want v.要，想要；想得到
want to do sth. 想（要）去干某事
I want to go to Shijiazhuang for my holiday. 我要去石家庄度假。
want sb. to do sth. 要某人做某事
I want sb. to help me. 我需要有人帮助我。
I’m sending you the puzzle so you can try to guess who it is. 我把这个谜发给你，因此你可以猜猜他是谁。
24．try用法小结
尝试
I don’t know whether I can succeed, but I will try. 我不知道能否成功，但我要试试。
If you can’t do it the first time, please try again. 要是第一次做不成，就请再试一次。
vi. 试用；试验
He expressed his satisfaction after he tried the new product. 使用过新产品后，他表示满意。
try to do sth. 尽力做；试图做
The boy tried hard to catch hold of the branch, but failed. 男孩竭力想抓住树枝，但没有抓住。

hope v.希望，盼望
We hope you have a very happy year in our class. 希望你这一年在我们班过得愉快。
【辨析】：hope与wish
hope意为“希望”，用于表示实现可能性和大的希望，后面可接动词不定式或从句。
He hopes to be a doctor. 他希望成为医生。
I hope he will be well again. 我希望他痊愈。
wish意为“希望”“愿望”，后面接不定式或“代词（名词）+不定式”结构，所表示的希望大体是可能实现的。
The children wish to spend their holiday in the Peoples’ Park. 孩子们希望到人民公园过假日。
We wish you to be happy. 我们希望你幸福。
